If you’ve been following my blog for a little while, you know that last year, I participated (and fell dismally short of the 50,000 word mark) in NaNoWriMo 2010. But NaNoWriMo is now hosting an unheard of, unseasonal version of NaNoWriMo this August, themed towards summer, appropriately named: Camp NaNoWriMo.
NaNoWriMo and sub-projects are funded by a non-profit organization called The Office of Letters and Light, and they are currently accepting donations to make both Camp Nano and this year’s NaNo, bigger and better than ever. They released this picture of what the site is projected to look at on their blog and you can also find a sneak peek of a Camp Nano poster and other fun, writerly thoughts.
And all of this adds up to mean that I have until the beginning of August to:
1) Finish the first novel
2) Come up with an idea for a second novel
Aaaaand 3) Plot out said second novel
I’m excited. And nervous.
Here’s hoping I do better this time around!
