Goodreads summary:
It’s been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam’s life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard’s rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia’s home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future-and each other.
Told from Adam’s point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.
Mini-review:
Adammmmm, let me love you.
If you’ve read, If I Stay, you know the dilly-o in Where She Went.
If you haven’t read it, AVERT THY EYES. HERE THERE BE SPOILERS.
Basically after Mia’s accident, after she lost her family, she moved to New York to go to Juilliard and she cut ties with Adam, which had a devastating effect on him. In Where She Went, we relive the past through his eyes and learn what he’s been up to since then. Guys, he is just so, so broken. He’s not really friends with his bandmates anymore and he is this sad shell of a manboy.
But hark! he runs into Mia when he stumbles upon a concert that she is giving at Carnegie Hall and they spend an amazing night resolving unfinished issues and catching up.
This is a book that makes you believe in true love and fate, guys. In my opinion, it trumps If I Stay, which is saying something as that was an amazing book as well.
To sum up: If I Stay broke my heart… but Where She Went managed to put it back together.
