Something Sunday’s Triumphant Return & New Year’s Accountability

On Something Sunday, I’ll discuss something old, something new, and something borrowed that I’ve used, experienced, or read this week. This could be a new place, doing something new, trying something new, looking at old pictures… really the possibilities are endless. I figured it’s a good way to look at the past, present, and… well, people’s generosity from week to week.

We’re skipping something blue. Because the color will get tedious after a while and any other connotation has the potential to be super depressing.

Something Old:

Typewriters may be old-fashioned, but I was very excited to add this to my necklace collection. I’ve been looking for a “writer” accessory and I found this at Forever 21 for a steal of a price.

Something New:

I got together with a few girlfriends to have a cheese party. It was originally supposed to be Wine & Cheese night, but all of us decided we’d rather just have cheese. Between that and the wine and cheese tasting we went to the night before, I tried several kinds of cheese that I never had before.

Something Borrowed:

After trying on a sweater dress that I adore at Loft, a friend pointed out that I would have very little opportunity to wear it. Instead she offered to lend me this one! I snatched up the offer, even though I have no idea where I’ll wear it. Still, I intend to soon!

That’s this week’s Something Sunday!

I’ve also decided to include in these posts my progress with my New Year’s resolutions. So!

1. Write at least once a week. Success! Camp Wordsmith is definitely making sure I do at least a little work. 🙂

2. Be social at least once a week. So successful I’m pretty exhausted. Happy hour Thursday night, wine & cheese tasting on Friday, cheese party on Saturday, and beach on Sunday. And those were just the first stops!

3. Cook at least once a week. Success! I made baked brie for Cheese Night!

4. Exercise at least 3 times a week. Success! I’ve been hitting the elliptical hard. And when I don’t have a ton of time, I do some love/hate bonding with Jillian Michaels and the 30 Day Shred workout.

5. Get back to a weight and fitness level that I’m happy with- On my way!

6. Don’t look at the numbers so much in blogging. Success! I have been way less stressed lately. It’s been fun again!

7. Create and make progress on my 25 before 25 list. Success! I have about half of a 25 before 25 list written

8. Apply for a job every day until I find one. I’m amending this one. I’ve rarely seen jobs posted on the weekends, so I’m applying for one every weekday. And in that respect– success!
