There are always PLENTY of challenges every year, but I’m keeping it fairly simple with my 2013 reading challenges…
Goodreads:
Last year’s goal of 150 was an epic epic fail, so I’m shooting a LEETLE lower this year with 95, which is still 7.9 books/month!
Debut Author Challenge:
This challenge is hosted by Tara at Hobbitsies, and I’m definitely looking forward to participating again! I have been the WORST blogger lately and have pretty much ZERO idea what Debuts there are to look forward to, but I am definitely excited to scour the list of 2013 debuts and pick some out! I’m going for the bare minimum and shooting for 12 debuts…
Titles TBA!
2013 Contemporary Challenge:
This one is hosted by Katie’s Book Blog! I participated last year and think that it was my favorite challenge to be a part of. I consider myself a little wild about fantasy novels, so it’s often nice to break that up with a fantastic contemporary novel. Again, I’ve been super lax about keeping up with publishing news so I know very few novels that are coming out next year, but I’m excited to learn and swoon and cry! Right now my list stands like THIS:
1) Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
2) Just One Day by Gayle Forman
3) The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
4) This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
5) ?
6) ?
7) ?
8) ?
9) ?
10) ?
But obviously those question marks will be REPLACED. I’m only aiming for Level 2 of the challenge with 10 + books, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if i make it to Level 3 (15+ books)!
My personal challenge:
I feel that I’m really missing out on a lot of classic novels in my education and I’m finally making an effort to fix that. This year, I plan to read 1 classic a month. I don’t know all of them yet, but I know that the first one on my list is Jane Austen’s Persuasion.
That’s it for me! What challenges are the rest of you taking on this year?
