Would You Rather YA Wednesday requires a choice be made when a WOULD YOU RATHER question related to YA Lit is asked. From squick to swoon, the questions could be about anything as long as they involve books from the YA genre.
This week:
WOULD YOU RATHER fall into a timetrap of repeating a day over and over again as in Lauren Oliver’s Before I Fall OR fall back into time into an unfamiliar and potentially dangerous time as in Lisa T. Bergren’s Waterfall?
Hmmmm… tough one for me. Part of me– the safe, comfortable and paranoid part that loves techonology and is a fan of air conditioning and women’s rights– insists that I should choose the “safe” option of a timetrap (though, granted, it’s not exactly a happy timetrap in Before I Fall).
BUT I would go insane very very quickly if I relived a day like that.
So I think that I’d choose to go back to a time period. Because quite aside from the little history nerd that lives inside my brain, at least I wouldn’t go batty since time would still be moving forward.
Which would you choose? And as always, feel free to leave suggestions for other Would You Rather YA questions!

I think I would have to go with the other time period. Like you I would totally go crazy if I had to relive the same day. Bring on the adventure I say!
OMG…. Both of these options are terrible. Do I get to pick my time period? If I could go back to the 1920s, I would. Anything else… my history is terrible, so I’d have to pick the time trap, because then I would know what was happening and I think it would easy my anxiety. Also, i wouldn’t age and I could tell people I read really fast, but really I just got more days than them.
It’s no lie when I say I’ve thought about both of these situations happening to me every day for the past like, TEN YEARS. With that said, I don’t know which I would choose, lol (which is part of why I still think about this, I suppose). I lean more towards going back in time, but it depends how/when/where/etc.
I had a SNEAKING SUSPICION you might enjoy this question ^_~
Since there’s a very high chance I’d be murder for my comtemporary ideals in any other time period, I’m gonna go with reliving the same day. I’ve watch Groundhog’s Day enought to get by.
Is there…a way to escape the time trap? ‘Cause if so, then I’d pick that one, but otherwise, it’s time for some fun dangerous time adventures!
I would rather go into an unfamiliar time period, if only because I have this huge sense of adventure and would think it was so cool if it ever happened to me ;)
