Title: 13 Little Blue Envelopes
Author: Maureen Johnson
Genre: Contemporary YA
Goodreads Summary: When Ginny receives thirteen little blue envelopes and instructions to buy a plane ticket to London, she knows something exciting is going to happen. What Ginny doesn’t know is that she will have the adventure of her life and it will change her in more ways than one. Life and love are waiting for her across the Atlantic, and the thirteen little blue envelopes are the key to finding them in this funny, romantic, heartbreaking novel.
Review: One thing that I love about Johnson’s writing is that she always gives me a boy to swoon over, but never lets me make the mistake that the story is in any way about him. This story is about Ginny and how, because of her dead aunt, she’s taking on an adventure entirely outside of her comfort zone.
It’s about her coming to terms with her aunt’s death and growing as a person. There are undercurrents of humor, romance, and friendship, but ultimately this is a journey of self-discovery set amidst a backdrop of famous European cities. And what an adventure it turns out to be.
Rating (from 1-5): 4.5. I really, really loved this book and can’t stop thinking about what may or may not have happened to the characters. I’m thankful that at least I know there’s a sequel! I can’t wait to get my hands on “The Last Little Blue Envelope.”

I love your book reviews girl! This is currently sitting on my Kindle waiting to be read. Can’t wait to get to it!
Aww, thanks! I just checked out The Last Little Blue Envelope from the library last week so I’m excited to see how things turn out there
are there any symbols in the books?
I guess that would depend on your interpretation? A case could be made for the envelopes themselves as symbols
