The 2nd annual WriteOnCon begins this Tuesday, August 16th and runs until August 18th. It’s a conference geared mostly toward kidlit writers, with curriculum largely divided between picture book, middle grade, and young adult. My ideas for my Young Adult novel are still very much in the planning stages, but I’m sure that I’ll be garnering lots of useful tips regardless, since I’m nearly finished with writing Now and Again.
However, for those of you in the querying stages, there’s also a Query Ninja program, during which actual agents will be browsing the forums and if they like a query may choose to e-mail right then to offer representation. How exciting!
With a rock star list of agents, editors, authors, and illustrators as the faculty, you won’t want to miss out! The final schedule of events should be posted tomorrow (Monday).
It’s also my very first writing conference, it’s free, and it’s online, so I’m pretty excited about it. Join in on the fun! Check it out now! Keep an eye out for me around the forums and whatnot. I’m registered as jbaggiero.
